Ovipar, vivipar, and ovovivipar



Oviparous (egg-laying). Animals that reproduce by laying eggs have characteristics generally incubate the eggs until they hatch. Examples nation of birds, amphibians, fish, insects, and worms.

Viviparous (giving birth or birth). Animals that reproduce by means of delivery or birth have characteristics that animals bred in the mother's body, and generally occur in mammals or breastfeeding. For example whales, cows, goats, and cats.
